Powertec Engineering design, tune and build all Radical Sportscar's engines. The company is wholly owned by Radical and is based in their Peterborough factory in the UK and at the Spring Mountain Motorsport Ranch, Nevada, USA.

Run by ex-motorcycle sidecar racer Ted Hurrell, Powertec Engineering has more experience in tuning and preparing super bike based engines than any other company world-wide. Such is the confidence in their workmanship, a full thirty hour racing warranty is offered with each engine and rebuild, subject, to conditions.

Powertec Engineering sources all it's super bike engines direct from the manufacturer. A wide range of modifications are carried out to ensure all Powertec engines are both powerful and reliable, when fitted into the Radical chassis, all of which are capable of pulling over two and a half g when cornering!

The RP range of V8 engines fitted to the SR8 models are built by Powertec Engineering from components, the majority of which, are designed and manufactured in-house. These lightweight unique engines incorporate both F1 and super bike technology, and give high power coupled with exceptional reliability.

For Radical customers who prefer a road car-based power plant, Powertec Engineering have tuned and developed the Honda Vtec engine fitted to the SR5.

Powertec also develop and build Radical's transmission systems. The unique SR3 gear drive system, the six speed transaxle in the SR8 and Radical's semi-auto shift system have all been developed by Powertec in partnership with Radical.

Powertec technicians support customers and Radical distributors throughout the world and are available to give assistance in the workshop and track side.
