Radical UK Cup racers can win a Daytona 24 hour drive.
30th January 2009
A deal struck at Daytona Beach this weekend, between the International Speedway Corporation and Sunoco Race Fuels, means that Radical UK Cup drivers can compete to win a fully paid drive in the 2010 Rolex 24 At Daytona race.
The Rolex 24 At Daytona Driver Challenge presented by Sunoco is a competition between racers in the Radical UK Cup, British GT’s and British F3.
The highest points scorer will win a race seat in a top Daytona Prototype team, with a real chance of winning the race.
A points system will include 100 points for a victory, 75 points for a second and 55 points for third, down to 10th place. An additional 20 points will be awarded to the driver who wins pole and the driver with the fastest race lap.
In addition to winning a seat in a Daytona Prototype the winner will participate in the January Test Days and have all flights and accommodation paid for!
The fuel for the car will be provided free of charge by Sunoco Race Fuels.
All eight rounds of the Radical UK Cup are to count and a correction factor will be incorporated to allow for the different number of rounds raced by the other participant race series.
Anders Hildebrand, MD of Sunoco said “This is an amazing prize that every European sportscar racer will be keen to win. The Rolex 24 At Daytona is one of the iconic races for sportscar racers and we are delighted to involve the Radical UK Cup in this programme.”
