"Girl Power" in the Hope PoleVision driver line-up

27th April 2009

22-year-old Natacha Gachnang, Swiss motorsport’s female hope and the 16-year-old talented Colombian Tatiana Calderón started their future together in the Radical European Masters last month in Barcelona with the first race of the season.

Natacha Gachnang (Sébastien Buemi’s cousin) already racked up a very impressive set of results in Formula BMW, the German Formula 3 Championship, plus third place in the Spanish F3 Championship and victory in the 2008 Spanish F3 Cup. This year she is out to score good results in both the Formula 2 Championship and the Radical European Masters.

Natacha from the Vaud canton will line up alongside young Colombian (Bogota) Tatiana Calderón. Tatiana holds a double title of national champion of Colombia, a victory at the Max Challenge and became the first woman to win the Snap-on-Stars championship in the United States.

The Hope PoleVision Racing team’s season has got off to a very encouraging start. The women’s team were on their way to their first victory until they were hit with a stop & go penalty. They finally finished 2nd in the first race and in the second one, Gachnang and Calderón saw the flag in 3rd position after driving a good race with an excellent driver change.

Hope PoleVision Racing’s aim this season is to win the championship with the women’s car, and in the longer term to achieve their objective: racing in the Le Mans 24 Hours with a competitive team.
